In addition, they often have a wider running deck (>50cm), which significantly improves walking and running comfort and prevents missteps.

Another important point is the warranty. A treadmill for home use is not suitable for commercial use. If you are going to use a home treadmill commercially, there is a greater chance that it will show wear faster / differently. A treadmill with AC or DC motor?

Professional treadmills are almost always equipped with an AC motor. These engines have a greater power and can handle a higher peak load. This makes them more durable than an AC motor.

AC motors

• Are more durable, stronger and can handle speed changes better.
• Are motors without so-called brushes

DC motors

• DC motors run on direct current
• These motors have so-called brushes
• The speeds that a DC motor can handle are more limited
• Relative to an AC motor they are less durable.

Although AC motors are slightly more expensive than DC motors, they are a better investment. They are more durable, stronger and can handle speed changes better. This way you can enjoy it for longer. The higher quality treadmills are therefore almost always equipped with an AC motor.

Can a professional treadmill be used for rehabilitation?

A low entry, emergency stop and extra armrests are often requirements for treadmills for rehabilitation.
